Please join us for Maifest in MainStrasse Village this coming weekend May 19th - May 21st.

German traditional music for polka dancing will be provided by The Festmeisters, on the Christian Moerlein Stage in Goebel Park, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Other live music performances throughout the weekend include Afrochine, Jeff Henry Trio, Burning Caravan, Laney and the Tramps, Mike Ligget, Rucca, Trio Jetts, Joe's Truck Stop, Sami Riggs, Ed Wilbers, and Jason Owens. Sunday Funday DJ brings the party tunes to the Braxton Brewery Stage all day Sunday, noon - 8:00 p.m.
Circus Mojo will perform throughout the weekend in Goebel Park, with shows every other hour, followed by interactive workshops for everyone in attendance. Circus Mojo will present their spectacular “Fire Show” on Saturday at 9 p.m. The Circus Mojo “Bircus Beer” brand will be available for local craft beer aficionados to sample, too.
A call to artists, and art lovers: Get down for visual delights, fun, and prizes at the Mark Brawley Memorial Street Chalk Off! Many locals may remember Brawley, a Main Strasse Village resident who died last year. He was known and loved as a neo pop art pioneer and mural artist in Covington. The street chalk art event he organized years ago continues in his name, with $500 in prizes being awarded for outstanding efforts in this temporary, but often stunning form of art. Artists of all skill levels are welcomed to participate, and templates will be available for those who are not “free styling.” This event starts at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday of Maifest, with a rain date of Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Those interested in participating should contact the Main Strasse Village Association at 859-491-0458. Everyone else should make a point to come view the chalk art works, which have been widely praised for their creativity, and magical quality of illusion.
Traditional Maifest celebrates local culture, and in that spirit, the MSVA is pleased to present new local fun food vendors, including Wabi Sabi, Grammy’s Sweet Shop, and Shiver Pops. Local and regional arts and crafts will be grouped in the Kentucky Ale Arts and Crafts Promenade.
